Now is the time to fight against land grabbing in Central African Republic

In Central African Republic “the Church is involved in reconciliation programs to heal the wounds of the past, it is less proactive on the prevention of future conflicts; meanwhile, a script for such a conflict is in progress” said Sr. Alianna Baldi. Sister ELianna is a  Comboni Missionary currently serving in the Central African Republic. She recently attended the Regional Francophone Africa Conference on the theme: “Land grabbing in francophone Africa: identifying and promoting endogenous solutions to get out of it” November 21st to 23rd 2017 in Abidjan/Ivory Coast (Conference photo above). She was inspired to share what she learned with the bishops in Central African Republic. When she asked, the opportunity  was grated. The first section of her presentation is titled “Land grabbing or agro-colonialism: wake up before it’s late.” After listening to her presentation, the Bishops confirmed that “ the unfortunate land grabbing is a reality and that action is needed.” Now where is the action, she asks.
